In Conversation with Miss India Intercontinental 2018 - Suman Chellani

Suman Chellani, 27 years old beauty who stands 5'7" tall hails from Ahmedabad, Gujarat is crowned as Miss India Intercontinental 2018 and will be representing India in Miss Intercontinental 2018 in Philippine. As an international anchor she has hosted more than 3000 events both at national as well as global stage and holds Masters in Business Administration( Human Resource), Diploma in French and Diploma in Aviation, Hospitality and Travel Management. She is a model, actor, artist manager, stylist, fashion choreographer, fashion designer and was also crowned as Miss Gujarat in 2011.  She loves travelling and has traveled more than 25 countries like France, Australia, South Africa, Italy and many more. 

Hello Suman! Heartiest congratulations for being crowned as Miss India Intercontinental 2018. How do you feel to be called as INDIA as Miss Intercontinental 2018?

Moment - Dream achieved.

That will be most proud moment of my life... I love my country and adding light on nation's name, what can be better than this one can ask for.

How did your friends and family reacted to your victory?

Their love and expressions were beyond my words can describe... Tearful eyes, laughter, jumps and dances were all around me.

Lara Dutta was the last Indian to win Miss Intercontinental in 1997 so do you feel any pressure of it? How do you plan to end this drought?

Not as a pressure, but yes as a responsibility!

Lara ma'am has been an icon, trying hard to learn from her and Veronica Salas who is reigning Miss Intercontinental 2017.

My plan is to win it..working extremely hard for it, entire nation's support is needed. Advises and suggestions are most welcome.

Who has the inspiring ray for you in your journey?

 MISS INTERCONTINENTAL CROWN - passionately its within me. I dream it with my open and close eyes. My house is getting converted to a crown theme decor. From my right hand ring, bed sheets, pillow, wall pic to earrings. Just crown that inspires me. Heartiest thankful to Ritika Ramtri ma'am, my pageant coach who is leading me right path.

You are an international anchor so what made you enter into pageants? When did you realize that it is your cup of tea?

Anchoring has always been along my journey but before that 9 years back i was a model and was crowned as Miss Gujarat 2011. I flew to Dubai and joined Emirates Airlines as cabin crew. As soon as I left Emirates, dream of making India proud on international platform continued... I did my homework and began my journey by participating in Miss Diva 2017. Though i couldn't make it in final but continued to take further training from The Tiara and now reigning as Miss Intercontinental 2018.

           

What are your strengths that sets you apart from the similarly talented ladies in Miss Intercontinental 2018?

I am yet to meet my fellow contestants in Philippines. About me - I feel i am very flexible when it comes to adapt new culture, diversity, languages due to my travel background. I love meeting new people and supporting everyone to the best of my capacity.

What is your fitness mantra? How are you planning to keep yourself fit keeping your game on for your international pageant?

Fitness Mantra is -  CONSISTENCY IN WORKOUT!

As fitness is not a game of one or two days, it needs same determination to get on the floor. I am getting training from Master Raashid Shaikh who trains people for body building competitions. Right nutritional diet, exercise, sleep, meditation is keeping on in fitness.

Any piece of advise you would like to give to your readers.

Honestly, i would flip the question on other side, I would love to hear your suggestions and support to make our country proud. It has been 21 years, lets bring the crown back!

Any insights to your future goals? Will we be witnessing you in Miss Diva ?

Not planned yet as my full focus is on Miss Intercontinental 2018 and my ears are waiting to hear in finale - INDIA!

There are times when you feel low so how do you manage to get out of that? What keeps you going?

Meditation and focus on my dream crown of MISS INTERCONTINENTAL 2018 keeps me going.
